Flora

A little snippet from Flora’s story from the web site: “My divorce was the best thing that ever happened to me. My divorce caused me to learn about life and the importance if being self-sufficient and economically self supportive that I successfully put all my ducks in order and now I am who I am. Every day I strive to learn new things about myself and how I can better those around me. I’m am proud to be 40 — I’m healthy, happy and fabulous and most importantly proud to be 40!”

Thank you Flora so much for reaching out through the web site and your support of The Finding 40 Project!  She graciously has agreed to share a bit of her own journey to 40:

I just turned 40 this July. I’m a San Diego native, born and raised. I’m a very proud mommy of 3 beautiful young girls ages 17, 16 and 9. I’m a single mom with a live-in boyfriend which just became my fiancee this past April.

I’ve been raising my girls on my own for the past 9 years. I have a small, successful income tax office, catering largely to the Latino community. I’ve been involved in non-profit organizations for the Latina women in this country and I love what I do. I write for a Spanish newspaper called “El Latino” to update the Latino community with tax laws and changes. I’m proud to have turned 40 years old.

Many of my friends said that I should celebrate big. I did not in fact — I did what I love instead. My girls and I, along with my sister, started out driving up to La Jolla for the best cupcakes ever, then we hung out at the beach which I love. We then came home to get ready for a nice dinner with my girls my sister and my fiancé.

I feel I have accomplished so much even at my young age. I believe that I have learned so much about myself and life with the help of Tony Robins and many other self help gurus that I’m healthy and sane. I have a lot of energy and love cooking and taking care of my family. I look forward to my next 50 and fabulous birthday. I’m proud of how my life has turned out considering the life that I’ve had.

My divorce was the best thing that ever happened to me. My divorce caused me to learn about life and the importance if being self-sufficient and economically self supportive that I successfully put all my ducks in order and now I am who I am. Every day I strive to learn new things about myself and how I can better those around me. I’m am proud to be 40 — I’m healthy, happy and fabulous and most importantly proud to be 40!
